Tupela Years on top long Lik-Lik Mountain
Tupela Years on top long lik-lik mountain
Over the weekend of 08-10 Feb we notched up two years on the farm. My how time flies when you don’t have any spare time <insert big belly laugh here>.
Looking back on the past couple of years we have achieved a lot but looking forward we still have plenty of plans to bring into fruition.
This time last year we were up to our knees in soggy ground after the big dump from ex Cyclone Oswald this year we are looking to the skies for rain as the dams are almost empty and the tanks are getting low. In reality we are not in to bad a shape compared to some people................... there are those out there who are doing it really tough and our best wishes go out to them for much needed rainfall.
Last Blog I mentioned that the “devil calf” Pats went walkabout after breaking through a fence. We are still to catch her but we do see her each day in either one of our paddocks or in the next door neighbour’s paddock. Last Sunday we rang the neighbour to see if he could hunt her back into our property and he gave chase on his quad bike. He gave up trying to push her back our way and decided he might try and push her into one of his pens.... just as he would get the mob close the “devil calf’ would lead them away again so he finally gave up the chase. We will get her eventually ...... really – we will – no really.
On Monday 03 Feb 14 we purchased another calf (we are
calling her Bubbles in line with the Ab Fab theme) from the weekly sales in Woodford
to keep Eddie company. When we looked on
the paperwork it turns out that she comes from the same property as Pats (aka
the devil calf) but her temperament is a lot calmer than Pats is/was.

We also over the past week tried to separate/wean Dobbs and Duffy from Beaudette and Daphne but have had little success so we plan to send them to the Woodford sales next week.
That’s about it for the moment so I hope you get enough rain to be useful but not too much to be a pain and remember to “live the dash”
